Half-a-year-birthday

Zeeba here: yesterday was my half-a-year birthday and mom wanted to get some glammer shots outdoors but instead of posing I thougt it was more fun to steal Robin's squeakyball and play "keepaway" so this is what we got.

Dumbbell update

Zeeba here: finishing up this weekend's tail---
I now think that it's fun playing with that dumbbell thing and I even run down the hall and bring it all the way back and put it in mom's hand to get a click/treat. So now she wants me to sit and HOLD it first. Why can't she make up her mind????

Robin here : Boring!!!!!!!

puppies are so dumb. I could teach him how to do it right but I can't work that clicker thing (don't have any thumbs). In any case if I had a treat, I'd eat it myself.

Resting in comfort

This Sunday we're resting since there are no shows to go to but Zeeba will get to practice his dumbbell work since he would still rather keep it for himself than deliver it to mom.

Robin is taking it easy but keeping her options open for chasing squirrels even if it is snowing outside.

The dogs

Hi, my name is Robin and I was adopted from New England border Collie Rescue when I was just a year old. I'm very proud of the fact that since then I have earned working "titles", a CDX in competition obedience and OA and OAJ in AKC Agility. I already have two "legs" on my Excellent Jumpeers title. When Icame here I lived with two shelties, Sparrow (Carmylie Sparrowhawk, UD. MX)-he was the Boss and oldest and Merlin (MACH Toven Wilderness Merlin, UD, CGC, TDI). Merlin didn't have all those titles then but he worked very hard, and Mom considered him to be a "perfect dog". Both Sparrow and Merlin have left us to go live with the angels . It was so sad to lose my best friend Merlin, because he got canine lymphoma when he was only 8 years old. Now I live with a pesky sheltie puppy named Zeeba.

Hi, I'm Zeeba aka Toven BZ Bobolink O' Wilderness.
This picture was taken when I was 4 months old and I'm almost 6 months now. I don't have any "titles" yet but I'm learning to retrieve a dumbbell and to go to a target and to go to a little pause table and lie down. I even let my mom brush my teeth with an electric toothbrush which is pretty cool since I just finished getting all my big dog teeth. And you know something--sometimes I feel real grown up and lift me back leg real high when I go pee pee so I don't get it on my front feet. I can't wait 'till the snow is gone so that I can learn more new things about agility which is lots of fun. I think that mom will be posting lots about all the new things that Robin and I will be doing.

Introduction

Wilderness Farm is in Columbia County , NY and we presently have many chickens, Shetland Sheep, a Shetland Sheepdog puppy, Zeeba, and a rescue Border Collie, Robin. We also have an Abyssinian cat named Leona. The humans are Carl, Helen and Stephanie and I will be the spokesman for all. Carl raises hay for the sheep, vegetables for the family and trains Robin in the sport of Agility. Stephanie cares for the chickens and sheep and I am training Zeeba for Competition Obedience and Agility.
The chickens provide eggs for the family and some to sell.
The photo is of our Agility training ring at the top of the hill. It was taken last fall and is now still covered in snow with more expected tomorrow.
